Fashion For Freedom Brings Ukraine’s Voices to Milan Fashion Week 2025
On 26–27 September 2025, the Sheraton Milan San Siro will host Fashion For Freedom | Milan Fashion Week 2025 — a project that merges fashion, education, and cultural diplomacy into a powerful movement of creativity and resilience.
More than a runway, Fashion For Freedom is a manifesto of beauty and responsibility, amplifying the voices of students, emerging designers, and independent brands united by a single message: fashion can become a tool for change.
At its heart, the project responds to the urgency of our times: telling the stories of those living in countries affected by war, supporting peace through design, promoting sustainability and recycling, and reshaping production chains through ethical practice.
Among the participants are visionary Ukrainian and international designers:
- Touch Me — founded by a displaced designer, translating minimalism into feminine resilience.
- Vivy Age of Beauty Poltava — harmonising nature and tradition through linen and symbolic motifs.
- KEKA Brand — reimagining Tudor echoes as a contemporary cultural and political manifesto.
- Gorsset — celebrating Ukrainian women with sustainable elegance and artisanal techniques.
- Girchicya Etnodesign — reviving ethnic motifs in a modern key as a language of belonging.
- Elena Bandurka Art Boutique — merging art and fashion into wearable masterpieces.
- Live Your Rhythm — designing everyday “armor” that blends comfort, femininity, and strength born in Kharkiv.
- Iryna Sydorenko — exploring the dual nature of Ukrainian women: resilience and infinity.
The initiative highlights the central role of education in cultural diplomacy. Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Khmelnytskyi University of Design, Lutsk University of Arts, and Kaferelsheikh University (Egypt) will join Ukrainian colleges in presenting collections that merge heritage with sustainability.
- Odesa Fashion College: Step Beyond — footwear crafted from recycled military uniforms, denim, and tires, symbolising resilience; Charm of the Ages — celebrating historical eras with models aged 65+.
- Lviv Fashion College: reinterpreting Ukrainian embroidery through recycling and upcycling, preserving memory while creating contemporary design.
